Link Matchmaking introduces relevant sites. It does not decide how a link is marked. Both sides agree that together. Google is not the law here.
Marking is a joint choice
You both agree how each link is marked. That's your call, not ours. The choices are plain (no extra marking), nofollow, sponsored, or ugc. Link Matchmaking does not require any of them.
We watch whether the link is still on the page, and whether the marking we see matches what you agreed. If it differs, we flag it for both of you and for us. The link still counts as live. A marking difference is not treated as a removal on its own.
Google suggests sponsored or nofollow for paid or exchanged links, so you can decide with that in mind. Google's guidance on qualifying outbound links.
A real relationship for testimonials
A testimonial is only for a real relationship, where you have actually used the business. Write a genuine testimonial for a business you've actually used. When you offer or seek that type of link, you confirm: I have genuinely used this business's products or services.
Natural anchors
Ask for useful, on-topic content and natural anchor text. A plumbing training course might write a useful post on a plumbing site, and link with the course name. Keyword-stuffed anchors are a poor idea. Pair with a relevant local partner, and put the link inside a genuine recommendation, not on a links-only partners page.
Fees are for the service
You pay for the service, not for links. There's no price per link. Plan fees fund the matching, the monitoring and the support, and they help keep Intro free for many members. Credits and hookups stay the way a date is counted inside the account. One-way is how a smaller site that cannot give a link back can still get one.
The 14-day placement window is there so dates don't drift for months. It is the longest either of you can ask for.
